After months of equivocating and then bursts of design activity, I have a design for the next clock I'm planning to build. I often find the need for timing short events, a minute or so, so a timer seems like a practical project.
The design has a double three-legged gravity escapement, mostly because that looks visually appealing. Not desiring it to take up much wall space -- so this means fewer wheels -- I've decided that this clock will only have a seconds hand. The clock has a ratchet wheel to handle winding, which will be by a pull chain. At this point, I think the drive chain should actually be a flat ribbon, but we'll see how that goes.
